The One-Stop, West African, Service Partner, C&I Leasing PLC, has, under the outsourcing arm, of the company, launched an online recruitment portal, getajobng.com.

The portal, launched on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Four Points Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, is geared towards tackling the problem of unemployment in the country.

Speaking at the event, the MD/CEO C&I Leasing Plc, Andrew Otike-Odibi, said, over the past 29 years, C&I has ventured into many businesses and has been in the Human Resource (HR) business for 20 years, where many lack and setbacks were observed.

Otike-Odibi mentioned that there was a disturbing trend of having a sea of talents and a large pool of companies looking for these talents but no bridge connecting them.

He revealed that after series of research, getajobng was set up as the needed bridge connecting the talent sea and the companies; working by identifying skills and traits to see how job-seekers fit in Nigeria, Ghana and the rest of Africa.

He concluded that the portal was set up to help tackle the problem of unemployment and help businesses grow by connecting them to the needed talents.

Also speaking, the Managing Consultant, AKMS Consulting Ltd, Amina Oyagbola, disclosed that there were recruitment challenges in the country and showed ways to resource even when talent seems scarce.

Oyagbola revealed that ‘Nigeria ranked 152 out of 157 countries in the World Bank Human Capital Index, yet as at 2018, nearly a quarter of the workforce was unemployed and 20% underemployed’.

Speaking on what set the recruitment platform apart from others, Getajobng’s consultant, Temitope Niyi, said the most important difference between Getajobng and others is that the platform basically operates a matching process, introducing the right candidates to the right companies and being particular about the quality of candidates the companies get so they focus on right matching.

This, he said, is done through the Skill Based Test, the Knowledge-Based Test and the Psychometrics Test the candidates take on the platform.

He also stated that in a bid to solve the unemployment problem, the portal will always seek ways to support the recruiters apart from the present services of Cover Letter and CV Writing and Career Advancement Coaching being offered.

The platform, which is presently open for a 3-month free test-run, has all the different job opportunity types- Full-Time, Part-time, Internships, and Freelancing.
