Start-up firm, Fuudnet Technology Limited, has unveiled an app that will serve as a platform to connect sellers and consumers of cooked food, processed food, others.
While unveiling the food app, Fuudzie, in Lagos, the Chief Executive Officer, Fuudnet Technology Limited, Mr Emmanuel Lawan, said the app was also borne out of the need to create a platform for caterers to showcase their skills to the society.
He described the app as a digital market place for selling and ordering of processed food items as well as cooked meals, among others.
Lawan said that technology had become a driving force of innovation, as such, it was necessary for food sellers, suppliers and caterers to use it as leverage for their businesses.
“The Nigerian food industry is growing and there is need to leverage technology to improve service delivery.
“We have also noticed that there is a gap in the market, as the current available solutions have neglected some market segments, particularly individual food providers, the packaged food and items suppliers.
“The need to cater to the fast, mobile and trendy middle class Nigerian food enthusiast, whose needs are hinged on convenience, speed of delivery and quality, is key.
“The Fuudzie app will make this possible by bringing players in the food industry under one platform for easy access and reach, thereby creating jobs and markets,”
