Dangote Group says it’s dissociating itself from scam ‘Bag of Goodies’ promo which is allegedly being carried by online fraudsters requesting customers to pay a sum to qualify.

As consumers jostle for the ongoing Dangote Cement’s ‘Bag of Goodies’ promo, unscrupulous agents have devised means to swindle unsuspecting customers and participants.

The parent company has therefore taken to the social media today, September 2, 2019, to warn the public to be wary of such scammers.

Dangote group issues the warning this afternoon, via its Twitter Handle with the title ‘Don’t get scammed in the Dangote Bag of Goodies Promo’.

It states that customers do not have to pay anyone to partake in the exercise, stressing that the only thing that qualifies a participant is to buy a bag of Dangote cement.

It however encourages participants to open the bag, scratch the card inside and win whatever is found on the card.

Here is the tweet:

According to information gathered by CobraReview, the promotion is geared towards creating incentives for consumers and empowering them economically. Some of the items up for grab are LG 42′ television set, LG 200ltr refrigerator, Bajaj tricycle (open back carriage), Bajaj motorcycle, N10,000 cash, N1,000 cash, G3 GAC cars, and assortments of Dangote food products.

While flagging off the promo in July, Halima Aliko-Dangote, Group Executive Director, Dangote Industries Limited, said the consumer promotion was in tandem with the philosophy of the company, which is to touch people’s lives by providing their basic needs.

Halima pointed out that Dangote Cement considered its customers as partners, adding that the company had also done same for its retailers and distributors in the past.

CobraReview can reliably confirm that the ‘Dangote Bag of Goodies’ which started on July 1, 2019, is slated to end on the 30th of September, 2019.
